Senior Pastor: Brother Michael Butler
Michael Butler is the pastor-teacher of Chapel Park Baptist Church. Michael began preparation for ministry in 2012 after being accepted to The Master's Seminary in Southern California. From 2012 to 2016 Michael served in Grace Community Church as a bible study leader and as a "Pastor for the Day" counselor. This role included taking calls from those across the county and in the local area who had spiritual needs to be met. Michael graduated from both The Master's University with a B.A. in Education and The Master's Seminary with his M.Div. Just before graduation, in the winter-spring semester of 2016, Michael was called to revitalize a church in Carson City, NV as a full-time pastor. He completed the work of establishing a strong, healthy, biblically based, and God-centered church in June 2020. His strengths include counseling, shepherding, and walking with the people of God through the various trials they may face. Michael began serving as pastor of Chapel Park Baptist Church in February of 2023.
Counselor In Residence: Dr. Paul Schmidt
I came to Christ as a teenager and have been serving at Chapel Park since 2009. I am a licensed Christian Counselor and graduate of Tripp Bible Institute. My wife, Lisa and I reside in Louisville, Kentucky and have been married since 1981. We have two children and two grandchildren.
Interim Worship Leader, Pianist: Nancy Thompson
I was raised in the church since I was 6 weeks old by Christian parents. I came to Christ as a child and have served in the music ministry most of my life at 18th Street Baptist Church and since 2009 At Chapel Park Baptist Church playing piano and now serving as temporary Worship Leader. Other areas I have served as a choir member and taught children Sunday school.
